A FEW REMINDERS:
I strongly recommend that you work alone on your work- but if you do collaborate, do so only after trying it yourself.
Be careful when you collaborate with other students. There is a fine line between help and cheating. Don’t be caught on the wrong side. I won’t be very forgiving.
Be careful on writing things in your own words-- some students have a difficult time with copying the words of others and presenting it as their own work. This is done many of times with books, magazines, and the Internet. Please don't be caught on the wrong side. I won't be very forgiving.
Citizenship: Be present! Be punctual! Be prepared! Participate! Be proper! Citizenship is part of a student*s grade.
You can check your grade online at my website. Do so often. Work hard and do your best. There will be many opportunities for you to succeed during the rest of the school year. Put in the effort and energy, and you will do well.
EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT
My new website is an excellent resource for students and parents. Please use it. I will be adding things onto it that will be beneficial. I will have additional information from notes-- download it off the Internet. If you do not have Internet access, have somebody get it for you
http://mrstebbing.googlepages.com/
I will be having a group email list so that I can send reminders to parents and students. If I have yours, I will be placing you on the list. If I don't have your email, I will get it from you at parent -teacher-student conferences on October 22nd.
I will be arranging times for parent-teacher-student conferences for those who do not attend on October 22nd.

Course Description and Objectives
Our classroom is a learning environment where students have the opportunity to learn and discover many new things. During our school year, we will be learning about the history of art, architecture, music, literature, drama, dance, and cinema. We will also focus some on the history of the fine arts in American history so that they can see how it relates with their history class. This class involves reading, writing, thinking, and learning. Our class is a place where we want everybody to get involved in their learning. The more you put into a class, the more you will get out of it.
